About
David Howes
David Howes is an Irish artist based in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, where the spectacular coastline and rich maritime heritage provide constant inspiration for his work. Originally from Skipton, North Yorkshire, David has lived on the North Coast for over 32 years, developing a distinctive style that celebrates the beauty of the sea.
A lifelong passion for painting has grown into a full-time creative pursuit since his retirement. Specialising in original maritime artwork, David captures the character of fishing boats, working harbours, coastal landscapes and nautical life with warmth, detail and atmosphere.
His paintings reflect a deep appreciation for Ireland's coastal scenery, combining careful observation with a love of the sea to create timeless works that appeal to collectors of Irish art and maritime paintings. Whether depicting colourful fishing vessels or peaceful harbour scenes, each piece celebrates the unique charm of Northern Ireland's coastline.
