Painting workshop 3rd and 10th July

Service Description

Workshops by Sarah Carrington, Bridge Street Art Mixed media landscape: Series of 2 painting workshops with local landscape artist Sarah Carrington Using mixed media (acrylic paint, pen, chalks, coloured pencil) we will be approaching different ways of representing the Causeway Coast, working from photographs of the beautiful local surroundings, translating them into paint and describing different textures. Sarah will guide you through the painting process, with painting demonstrations and encouragement throughout. At the end of the course, you will have several small paintings and one final landscape piece. Please bring with you: A sketchbook/some paper approximately A4 size (at least 250gsm) A set of acrylic paints and a selection of brushes, For line and mark making - chalks, pens, pencils, whatever you like to use Canvas boards and/or canvases of various sizes; no larger than A3, four in total, (these can be bought from Bridge Street Art, The Works, Amazon, or The Range), Any images or photographs of views that you would like to work from. Boards, easels and water pots will be provided. Maximum 8 places Age 18+ Booking in person must be paid in full 3 days before hand. Some background about the artist: Sarah Carrington was born in Scotland and studied Fine Art at Edinburgh University. Since graduating in 1999, she has been practising as a professional artist, specialising in landscape drawing and painting. Currently based on the beautiful Causeway Coast, Sarah finds endless inspiration for her artwork. She exhibits her work locally and throughout the UK, and regularly facilitates painting workshops within schools and local communities.
