Service Description

Mixed Media: Textures in Landscape Workshop with local artist Sarah Carrington Join artist Sarah Carrington for an inspiring mixed media workshop exploring the textures found in landscape. Through a combination of painting, drawing, and layering techniques, you’ll discover how to create depth and surface richness inspired by the rugged coastal scenery of the Causeway Coast. Working with acrylic paint, pen, chalks, and coloured pencil, you’ll experiment with materials to express movement, rhythm, and the tactile qualities of land and sea. Sarah will guide you in using layering, mark-making, and mixed media to evoke the feel of rock, sand, cloud, and water. Working from your own photographs of coastal textures, you’ll learn how to translate these visual details into expressive, abstracted artworks. Through step-by-step demonstrations, practical tips, and encouraging guidance, you’ll develop several small studies exploring texture and composition, leading to one finished piece that celebrates the essence of the landscape’s surfaces and forms.
